The 2009 Regular Session of the Indiana General Assembly ended on Wednesday, April 29 shortly before midnight. However, because the House and Senate failed to adopt a new two year budget, Governor Daniels will have to call them back to the State House for a Special Session in either May or June.

What Will Happen
In The Special Session?

Governor Daniels will call the 150 legislators back to the State House for a Special Session.  The Special Session cannot last for more than 30 session days.  The Governor cannot restrict what the House and Senate can consider.  In other words Governor Daniels can say he is only calling them back to vote on a new two year budget but the legislators can consider other issues.
