Senate Agrees With Change To SB 101!
We are another step closer to victory for religious freedom in Indiana! On Tuesday, March 24th the Indiana Senate voted 40 to 10 to concur with the change made to SB 101 in the House of Representatives. SB 101 is the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. SB 101 will now go to Governor Pence for his signature. We are now one step away from passing legislation in Indiana to help protect churches and Christian businesses; and to help protect religious freedom for all Hoosiers!
Senate Bill 101 is the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Senator Dennis Kruse, Senator Scott Schneider and Senator Brent Steele along with 10 other State Senators authored SB 101.
Representatives Tim Wesco, Jud McMillin, Don Lehe and Milo Smith are the sponsors of SB 101 in the House of Representatives.
SB 101 will help protect religious freedom in Indiana by providing protection for individuals with sincerely held religious beliefs, along with Christian businesses and churches.
SB 101 will help protect individuals, Christian businesses and churches from those supporting homosexual marriages and those supporting government recognition and approval of gender identity (male cross-dressers).
Here are just 3 examples:
- Christian bakers, florists and photographers should not be punished for refusing to participate in a homosexual marriage!
- A Christian business should not be punished for refusing to allow a man to use the women’s restroom!
- A church should not be punished because they refuse to let the church be used for a homosexual wedding!
