Indiana law prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages for carryout on Sundays. This has been the law in Indiana for many years.
House Bill 1146 has been filed in the Indiana House of Representatives. If HB 1146 were to become law then grocery stores and other retail establishments that sell alcoholic beverages on Monday through Saturday would now be able to sell carryout alcoholic beverages on Sunday. Should Indiana expand the opportunities for people to buy alcoholic beverages or should the prohibition on Sunday liquor sales be maintained?
At Advance America we do not support removing the ban on Sunday liquor sales. HB 1146 may have a committee hearing on Wednesday, February 6th.
