Teachers would be required to participate in “diversity” training throughout the year. Additionally, every public school “shall provide diversity and multicultural training to members of the school community including staff and students.” Will this result in the teaching of homosexuality and gender identity (men who dress as women – cross-dressers) as acceptable? Additionally, every public school is to utilize “cultural competency assessments or cultural audits” as they work to improve “the cultural competency of the school’s teachers, administrators, staff, students, and partnering school communities.”

Here are some unanswered questions:
1. What is a cultural competency assessment or cultural audit that would be given to a student or teacher?

2. What does it mean that a student or teacher is “culturally competent”? Is this an appropriate role for the schools? Is this an attempt to indoctrinate students about alternative lifestyles such as homosexuality? Is it an attempt to have all cultures and religions viewed as acceptable and equal to each other.

3. At a time when many young people are dropping out of school and parents are concerned about their children getting an education that will prepare them for the work place, shouldn’t schools be focusing on academics rather than something that could be used to indoctrinate students concerning politically correct positions?
