Budget Battle Ahead!
**Laying the Groundwork for a Tax Increase?**
The 150 legislators are now meeting at the State House in a Special Session. They must approve a new budget by June 30. The atmosphere around the State House is not one of harmony. It appears there will be a heated battle between the House and Senate and between Republicans and Democrats.
The final outcome will impact every Hoosier family now and in the future. If the budget spends too much then there is the possibility of a tax increase in 2010 or 2011!
Gambling! Gambling! Gambling!
It appears there will be a major push to expand legalized gambling in Indiana! Here are some of the possible avenues of expansion:
- A casino in Indianapolis!
- A referendum on a casino in Fort Wayne!
- A land based casino in Northwest Indiana!
- An expansion of gambling at the two race tracks!
What Can You Do?

“Hoosier families and businesses don’t need any tax increases! Please only vote
for a budget that will NOT lead to a tax increase in the future. Hold the line on
spending! *Indiana doesn’t need any more gambling! Please vote against any expansion of
gambling!”
