Advance America is leading the effort to protect marriage between one man and one woman. In order for the voters to be able to vote on this in November 2008 the Indiana House and the Indiana Senate must pass The Constitutional Amendment to ban same sex marriages and prohibit courts form granting same sex civil unions. We believe the State Senate will once again pass Senate Joint Resolution 7, but it is unclear whether or not the leadership of the Indiana House of Representatives led by Speaker Pat Bauer will permit a vote on the floor of the House of Representatives. We believe that it is wrong for a handful of Representatives to stop this issue from moving forward and prevent a vote by all 100 members of the House of Representatives. If you have an opinion on this issue moving forward so that you can have the opportunity in November 2008 to vote to protect marriage between one man and one woman by banning same sex marriages contact your Senator and Representative.
