What Would House Bill 1210 Do?
Here are some of the pro-life provisions of House Bill 1210:
- HB 1210 would amend Indiana’s informed consent for abortion law to require women seeking an abortion to receive information orally and in writing rather than just verbally from the abortion provider.
- Some of the information that would be provided to her would include: the medical risks of an abortion, information on adoption and the development of an unborn baby.
- She would also be told that life begins at conception and that the unborn baby may feel pain when the abortion occurs.
- Abortions after 20 weeks would be banned except to save the life of the mother.
- Information on the development of an unborn baby would be posted on the website of the Indiana State Department of Heath.
- The pregnant woman would also be given the opportunity to view an ultrasound of her unborn baby and listen to the baby’s heartbeat if audible.
