About Us
Mission
Advance America, formerly Citizens Concerned for the Constitution, is dedicated to informing and educating the citizens of Indiana as to how their government works and what they can do to make a difference on issues of importance to them.
History
Advance America is Indiana’s largest pro-family and pro-church organization.
Advance America was founded in 1980 by attorney Eric Miller with just ten other individuals. Presently, the grassroots network includes several thousand families, several hundred churches and hundreds of businesses around the state.
Advance America is a non-partisan tax exempt, educational organization. Advance America does not endorse any candidate or political party.
Educating And Informing The Citizens Of Indiana
Advance America informs individuals about what is happening in state government and in the Indiana General Assembly through mailings, speaking engagements, pastor and citizen briefings, email updates and web videos.
Advance America’s staff reviews each bill filed in the Indiana General Assembly. This could be as many as 1200 separate bills in just one year. Advance America sends out information on bills impacting the families and churches of Indiana so individuals will know what is going on in their government.
In order to help the citizens of Indiana know how their government functions and what they can do to make a difference on issues they care about, Advance America launched the Proud Hoosier Partnership in 2008. Individuals who join the Proud Hoosier Partnership get the Proud Hoosier Resource Book written by Eric Miller. The Proud Hoosier Resource Book has information about how a bill becomes a law, how to effectively communicate with your elected officials, how to run for office or help someone run for office as well as other valuable information to help someone become an effective participant in their government. In addition to the Proud Hoosier Resource Book, individuals receive either a patriotic DVD or patriotic book. More information about the Proud Hoosier Partnership can be found on our website www.advanceamerica.com.
In order to help individuals cast an informed ballot in each statewide general election, Advance America publishes non-partisan Voter Guides. Advance America began publishing Voter Guides in 1986. Since that time millions of non-partisan Voter Guides have been provided free of charge to the citizens of Indiana.
